Similar films to the type of genre we are looking at include:

- Sweeney Todd Demon Barber On Fleet Street (2007) -
Horror and drama.
Storyline: The infamous story of Benjamin Baker, a.k.a Sweeney Todd, sets up a barber shop in London, with the help of Mrs Lovett, this character plays on his respectable status to lure the innocent victims in and murder them, in a horrific manor.

- The Last House On The Left (2009) -

Drama and horror thriller.

Storyline: Three hooded Eastern-European criminals burstinto a home in a Madrid gated community, holding the family hostage in its own home, and forcing the father to empty his credit cards.

- Taken (2008) -
Action, crime and thriller.
Storyline: A retired CIA agent travels across Europe and relies on his old skills to save his estranged daughter, who was kidnapped on a trip to Paris to be sold into prostitution.

- The Bone Collector (1999) -
Crime and mystery drama.
Storyline: Denzel Washington plays a quadriplegic homicide detective. He and his female partner track down a serial killer.

With the exception of Sweeney Todd, these films have the main storyline of kidnapping and suspense, this is similar to our storyline as it is based around the idea of kidnapping and torturing of the innocent. Sweeney Todd on the other hand, is similar to our film as the main dominant character plays on the naivety of his victims and uses one main weapon to execute the innocent. These films all have a sense of uncertainty about them, this adds to the level of anticipation, as the audience don't necessarily know what is going to happen to the victims.
